The client
Jean Franklin is a sustainable womenswear line based in California. The founder, Amanda Singh, prides herself in creating made-to-order pieces for all shapes and sizes that can easily transition from season to season.
Jean Franklin only uses deadstock fabrics, implements ethical practices, and pays its workers fair wages (which is, sadly, still a huge issue in the fashion industry, even in the U.S.). Jean Franklin ships worldwide.
The situation
Jean Franklin’s founder Amanda approached us to take her brand to the next level. She had experienced success at a variety of local markets and expos, but felt that she had hit a wall. We went through her brand profiles and target audience and found that she would benefit from properly reintroducing Jean Franklin to the world through a strategic PR campaign and a variety of PR activities. After speaking with Amanda, we also learned just how educated she really was in the sustainable fashion space and knew we would need to get her out of her comfort zone to share her knowledge with the world.
During our time with Jean Franklin, we were able to successfully implement PR activities and media placements that increased the company’s following and customer base. Jean Franklin was featured in a variety of gift guides: local and international. We secured opportunities for founder Amanda to be a speaker on a panel at Socal VegFest, acquired booth space at Yellow Co., invited key media to Jean Franklin events, and partnered with a variety of influencers on social media initiatives, which included original content creation, individual promo codes, and calls-to-action.
We also had Jean Franklin team up with Bekah Martinez, influencer and ABC’s The Bachelor alum, for whom we developed a large-scale campaign. Bekah was able to design her own look, which would then be sold on Jean Franklin’s site; a percentage of sales was donated to BCRF. From start to finish, we were there. Starting with introductions, negotiations with lawyers and managers, timeline development, overseeing behind-the-scenes photoshoots, and securing an exclusive interview with Bustle to announce the partnership.
Amanda Singh is currently taking some time away from Jean Franklin, but she is not staying silent. She is continuing her educational work on the impact the fashion industry has on the environment via film projects.
