The client
Moon Cycle Bakery is a one-of-a-kind hormone-supportive, natural sweet-treat delivery service. Devon Loftus launched Moon Cycle Bakery in 2017 with the goal of helping people regain their sense of empowerment and to help others find support during cycles that can be challenging and alienating.
Today, Moon Cycle Bakery's mission is to help individuals traverse the various seasons of womanhood, not only through treats, but through education, real conversations, self-care practices, and whimsical-meets-raw story telling.
The situation
We came across Moon Cycle Bakery while browsing online, right as they were preparing to launch their company + Kickstarter campaign. We hopped on the phone with Devon Loftus and were immediately hooked. All of our values aligned; we were thrilled to be able to support her entrepreneurial journey and mission to provide better support for women at every stage of their lives.
We first dove into, “What is PR, and what role will it play to help me meet my Kickstarter goals?” and went through a few PR campaign ideas. From there, we determined Moon Cycle Bakery’s strategy would be multifaceted to start off, and once the initial Kickstarter goals were met, we would begin to further refine our targets.
As a result of our work, Moon Cycle Bakery far exceeded their initial Kickstarter goals, and a long-term relationship was formed. Moon Cycle Bakery and founder Devon Loftus were featured on top-tier platforms such as Parents, Refinery 29, Well + Good, Forbes, Elite Daily, and many more: they also appeared on a variety of talk shows and podcasts. We ultimately garnered over 7 billion impressions.
We were able to establish Devon Loftus as a thought leader and Moon Cycle Bakery as an innovative and essential company for women, which ultimately resulted in increased product sales and a cookbook deal with Storey Publishing.
Lena Rose PR also assisted in the publicity campaign surrounding the cookbook launch in 2021, which landed the Moon Cycle Cookbook at the top of Amazon best-seller lists as well as a Nautilus Award win.
